hi, I’m Ore.

welcome to my little corner of the internet!

. . . a few things about me . . .

  • I am human and you can call me Ore, pronounced {aw-reh}.
  • My pronouns are she/her.
  • I currently live in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • I work as Programme Manager at Bridges for Enterprise.
  • I co-founded The Table Community and The Northstar Library.
  • I have a tiny garden. Caring for plants teaches me a lot about caring for myself and others.
  • I enjoy eating, reading, and having fun conversations with friends.
  • I love poetry (all forms of writing, tbh) and I am a super fan of music by Sleeping at Last.

. . . a few things about me . . .

. . . at work, I wear many hats. . .

  • BfE collaborates with early-stage social entrepreneurs in the developing
world to scale business ventures and empower local communities.
  • I manage all the moving parts to ensure the smooth operation of the
organisation, both strategically, and in the day-to-day tasks.
  • Do you know any social entrepreneurs in Africa, Latin America or Asia who need free business support? Or
would you like to partner with us? Send a message to outreach@bridgesforenterprise.com

. . . sometimes, I write. . .

  • “for the brave” is a monthly publication on Substack where I share my thoughts on random topics
with the hope that they inspire and bring some comfort to people like me.

. . . ask me about. . .

  • The Table Community
  • Books have shaped my life. I think that a person and a people who do not read will forget
who they are. Public libraries in Nigeria are dead or dying and books become even more
inaccessible by the day due to the rising cost of living. Therefore, with some friends, I am
building The Northstar Library to help readers read and to make more people readers.
  • The Northstar Library
  • The Table is a meaning-making third space for Nigerians. I co-founded The Table
Community with Kamsy to create a safe space for people seeking to make meaning of life
outside of religion. The Table has been featured on
BBC Heart & Soul Podcast, Minority
    Africa and Marie Claire NG.
