Relevant Experience

2019 - 2024

Experienced Senior

KPMG Advisory Services

As an experienced senior at KPMG, my role was to lead forensic services projects, helping clients optimise their processes to mitigate the risk of fraud and financial crimes.

During my tenure at KPMG, I led six (6) projects and contributed to the success of eight (8) other projects as a team member. My performance in managing high-risk projects was rated “highly effective”.

2018 - 2019

Operations Analyst

Money Africa

Money Africa is an ed-tech/fintech startup helping young Africans create and maintain wealth. As the first operations personnel at Money Africa, I ensured the day-to-day running of the business including conducting financial research for educational purposes, analysing market data, writing, communicating with clients and social media management.

Skills & Proficiencies

Professional Skills

Process Optimisation, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance

My client-facing role at KPMG involved the assessment of clients’ operational processes for fraud risk, as well as, proffering solutions to ensure that these processes are efficient and are in line with both regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This equipped me with knowledge of various processes across industries and how to optimise these processes. You get a project manager, a fraud risk manager and a compliance officer in one.

Data Analytics

I am a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with extensive experience in fraud detection, which is 80% data analytics and facts review. I am skilled in data analytics using Microsoft Excel, CaseWare IDEA and SQL. Your business is assured to receive data-backed insights and your projects are sure to be executed with an attention to detail only a detective can wield.

Resource Management

As an accountant by training, I excel at conducting cost-benefit analyses to ensure that projects are profitable. I also ensure that the team’s activities and operations are managed in line with the budget. At KPMG, this meant tracking the team’s time and fee ledgers to ensure that resources are allocated to ensure efficient fund management.

Skills & Proficiencies

Communication

I excel at articulating my ideas clearly and creatively in both professional and personal situations. At KPMG, the output of our projects were detailed business reports to our clients’ Board of Directors. When I’m not working, I’m writing articles, for which I receive consistent feedback on clarity of thought and ability to connect with my audience. See some of my work on LinkedIn and Medium.

Leadership and People Management

I have a natural ability to take ownership of assigned roles and projects. Over the years, I have also honed my leadership skills by going beyond giving directions to team members to inspiring them to do their best work. My team members and bosses at KPMG attest to my leadership abilities. Outside of work, I’ve led and still lead teams to achieve non-profit project objectives at The Lagos Street Store, The Table Community and The Northstar Library
